Rob's Monarch Special Edition

1977 Mercury Monarch 4-door Special Edition - Powered by 250CID inline six engine with C4 automatic transmission.
Here is what Rob says about his car:
Originally acquired from my grandfather in 1988, it had 22,000 miles on it at the time. Up until the time I sold the car (1992 I believe), it was driven year round. When I was selling it, it was vandalized with glass fragments, and the car was etched from top to bottom with scratchings and cussin'. I got the money I was asking for the car from the insurance company.

Special Edition meant "bare bones" el-cheapo package. Original equipment included: 250 CID I6 engine, 3 speed automatic, AM radio, flight bench seating and no A/C.

Modifications:
-Granada/Monarch ESS steering wheel, dashboard facia and sport mirrors
-bucket seats and floor console
-stereo system
-restored the aluminum magnesium rims and painted them color keyed to the car
-pin striping, day/night mirror, new windshield
-1978 front bumper - the 1977 was damaged when we got the car and started rotting fast

That's still the original paint job! Oddball colour at that. Most had a darker copper. Made paint hard to find.

Thank you, Rob, for photos and description of your Monarch.
